Today I went to see the noon showing of Casablanca at the historic Prytania Theatre. As probably everyone knows, it's a classic. Getting the chance to see it in a theatre older than the movie itself but outfited with today's technology was even sweeter. The future of digital delivery is amazing. The movie was played from a blu-ray player, and it retained its classic look, but without having to worry about the reel going out or anything of the sort. Definitely worth seeing again and again, which I plan to do! They showed a Looney Tunes spoof at the beginning which had everyone in stitches. Bugs really does do a great Humphrey Bogart.

Although it's great that they have the only 3D experience in the city of New Orleans, I'm honestly much more interested in these old movies, though I do face a bit of an interesting challenge. Here's a small sampling of upcoming classic movies:

Also, worth noting the upcoming 2009 French Film Festival:

If you look through the dates, you'll note my little problem. Too many movies on a particular day. I'll probably turn into a real Batman from all the time I'll spend in that theatre that weekend. They'll probably love me afterwards.
