Sherlock Holmes is dead sexy

Is this Sherlock Holmes, or is this some cop fond of fighting who managed to pick up a trick or two from the old chap? That's what I thought much of the time. I've seen a few interesting adaptations, like Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd century, that put Holmes outside of his comfort zone, but this new movie is just an excuse to use a famous character and make him another action hero. I don't want to have to wait for a sequel that may never come to see how this new thuggish Holmes fares against a rather sinister Moriarty...isn't he always?

Watson...oh Watson. You too are a man willing to speak first with your fists, or in some cases your foot. Often seen as Holmes bumbling help, here he is but hired muscle, only occasionally lending a hand to determine the time of death of the many dead people left in this movie's wake. I'm sure he checks the audience afterwards as well...

Watson Law

As for the other movie I saw today, Push... it could have had a bit more of....everything. Could have been a half hour shorter too, or at least focused more on the characters. Instead, it's just like a half-assed intro to a rouge superpowered rebels saga.
