Scott Wilder is a tech geek and involved Christian who also happens to be a fairly talented musician. His album, Learning To Love is a six track journey into Scott's view of the world, his hopes for the future and betterment of the world. Learning To Love has an amateur, raw feel to it, which can be appreciated when paired with the message in the lyrics. The album is available on Lala.com, iTunes and Amazon.

The first track, also the title track, is a poppy anthem with a garage rock feel that introduces the entire feel of the album.

The second track, To Last All Time is a slower ballad, also centered around love and devotion.

The third track, All Too Soon, also has a slow rhythm, and opens with a very interesting synth sound which periodically drones on throughout the sound, and it never overwhelms Scott's vocals.

The fourth track doesn't really jump out, though it serves to keep the pace of the album even, which might be a good or bad thing depending on your tastes, and mood.

The fifth track brings about an interesting change of pace. With a slightly more complex guitar playing, it helps to break away a bit from his vocals and serves to set up the instrumental end in the sixth track. This is a welcome respite from the other vocal-centric songs.

Overall, it's a very good album in its theme about love, though it feels a bit short being centered mostly around his vocals and at only six tracks. I'd like to see Scott's next album hopefully a bit longer and with a bit more instrumental variation. Also, I'd like to see what came from him participating in National Solo Album Month. As a solo album, it is truly a gem. This album is a great pick me up when you're feeling down, and feel a need to love. Learn with Scott, as you embrace all that life gives.
